JAZZ RISE INC

Quote 1
An international organization based in Harlem, our mission is to inspire, educate, and elevate the appreciation of jazz music through master classes, lectures, performances, and the creation of new music. Founded by renowned musicians, flutist Bart Platteau and pianist, Amina Figarova, JAZZ RISE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the world through jazz and original compositions. With deep roots in the jazz community, Bart and Amina, both celebrated artists in their own right, established this organization to expand their work with international youth choirs, to foster creativity, education, and cultural exchange within the realm of jazz music. We believe that jazz, as an ever-evolving art form, has the power to unite individuals from all walks of life, and our goal is to bring people together to explore its rich history while encouraging the creation of new, innovative works. Through a wide array of educational initiatives, concerts, workshops, and collaborations, we provide both emerging and established musicians with the tools and platforms to thrive. Our programs range from performance opportunities that showcase original compositions to educational resources that nurture the next generation of jazz musicians. By offering these unique opportunities, we aim to inspire a deeper understanding of jazz, its creative processes, and its influence on contemporary music. At the heart of JAZZ RISE is a commitment to community engagement. We strive to create meaningful connections between artists, students, and audiences, forging a shared celebration of music that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries. Whether through intimate workshops, large-scale concerts, or collaborations with other artistic disciplines, our organization works tirelessly to ensure that the transformative power of jazz reaches all corners of society

Faith And Mallay Delgado 1 Scaled
Faith and Mallay are 20 and live in poverty in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa.

The girls sing with the Matsiko World Orphan Choir, which toured the USA last year on some of the country’s most prominent jazz stages.
The purpose of the choir is to provide free education and prevent child trafficking for the poorest children in the world living in poverty.

These girls were recognized as having exceptional vocal talent, impressing the jazz community, which acknowledged that they could achieve successful musical singing careers with professional tuition.
To do so, they need to study in the USA.
Liberia has no music schools or colleges, so these exceptionally talented musicians will lose the opportunity to have successful musical careers without urgent financial support.
In fact, the world will miss the opportunity to see and hear these girls’ rare talent.
With support, they can become role models and bring hope not just to children in Africa but also to other forgotten children living in poverty across the world.

Please help us make history

JAZZ RISE secured their visas and travel to the USA, and Mallay and Faith are now studying at the  Delgado Community College in New Orleans.

Both girls have a strong support network and secure housing arrangements in New Orleans, ensuring they will have the stability needed to focus fully on their studies. They are ready and eager to embrace this opportunity, and transform their futures.

Beyond their personal ambitions, Faith and Mallay represent something far greater than themselves. They are symbols of hope for children growing up in poverty, proving that education and opportunity can make the impossible achievable. By receiving professional musical training, they will not only elevate their own careers but also shine a light on the struggles and dreams of other children in Liberia—showing them that with perseverance and education, they too can achieve greatness.

WHAT we need at this point is your help to make their dream possible, every donation helps, no matter which size, let’s makes their dream comes through.
